You can have access to afs from (lb)gw machines.

AFS is mounted on /afs , like on lxplus. The only strange thing is that the name of the owners of the files will be wrong : the userids are not the same for online and afs accounts so you'll see the online name corresponding to the afs UID. But as the access rights are based on the afs token, they will be correctly managed.

When you have to access or write protected files, you may have to obtain an afs token. To do that, please use the 'afslog' script that will authomatize this (it first get a kerberos token then asks an afs one). 'kinit' will only give you a kerberos token. Use the 'afslog' (located in /group/online/scripts/ , but it should already be in your PATH) without parameter if your online username is the same as your afs one, else just pass the wanted afs username to the command.
