IMPORTANT: In order to have up to date Velo position, restart Panoramix after start of Physics run

Logged on as lhcb_shift@plus

  • type evdisp
    • evdisp -F for default Reco sequence with early data option
    • evdisp --FirstCollisions for Velo open Reco sequence with early data option
    • evdisp --Cosmics for basic reconstruction of tracks: velo, seed, forward, muon, calo tracks
    • evdisp --SingleBeam runs full Reco sequence with Magnet Off and Velo Open settings
    • or evdisp -u optional-user-option-file
  • select your favorite online view from the top menus
  • click on loop arrow for continues show of events
  • common problems:
    • Hummingbird Exceed (3d) not running
    • no events from mona stream:
      • requires eventually restart of event display
  • for looking at events on a file:
    • type evdisp_fromfile -f path-to-your-file -u optional-user-option-file
  • Latest changes (19/11/2009):
    • Patched version of Panoramix v17r6 installed, picked up by above scripts
    • v17r6 runs by default Qt4 graphics, back to OpenMotif can be done with --om option
    • Long outstanding issue with stopping loop solved
    • added patched version of Kernel/LHCbAlgs v2r29p1 to be able to run with new ODIN bank number until next new release of Panoramix (waiting for Analysis)
  • Do not try to run Panoramix on a double-screen computer: it will kill the X-server
(I (TR) think it only applies for displaying on a scl4 machine, not for a Windows machine)
